Gabon’s government has lifted its suspension of the national football

Gabon’s government has lifted its suspension of the national football team and reversed the exclusion of key players Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Bruno Ecuele Manga after the Panthères were eliminated from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. 🇬🇦⚽️  According to the Gabonese Football Federation, the measures that had halted the team’s activities and barred the two veterans from selection were officially withdrawn on January 12, 2026.  The sanctions had been imposed earlier in January following Gabon’s disappointing group-stage exit at AFCON, when the government dissolved the national team’s coaching staff and suspended the senior side. The lifting of the suspension paves the way for Gabon’s preparations to resume for future competitions, including planning ahead for the 2027 AFCON qualifiers. #afcon #for26
